The line will run from ZIL station of the Moscow Central Ring in Danilovsky District to Troitsk, providing high-speed rail transportation for residents of new Moscow territories.

Sergei Sobyanin opened full-fledged traffic on the Troitskaya subway line. Its length is 15.5 kilometers. Seven stations will operate as part of this line. In addition, it is possible to transfer from this line to the Big Circle Line and Sokolnicheskaya branches of the subway.

“A new stage in Moscow metro construction, in two stages — today and in September — we have built the first phase of the new metro line — Troitskaya — from the BKL to Kommunarka and Novomoskovskaya. Seven stations that will improve transportation accessibility for almost 900,000 Muscovites. Further the line will go to the Moscow Central Ring, to “ZIL” and south to Troitsk. The work to be done is big, responsible and very important. I wanted to thank the transport workers and builders for the work they had done. I must say that in the New Year days they will also work, the construction of the subway does not stop for a minute,” Sergei Sobyanin said.

Thus, the line will run from ZIL station of the Moscow Central Ring in Danilovsky District to Troitsk, providing high-speed rail transportation for residents of new Moscow territories. The opportunity to use the additional metro line will also be given to the districts located near Leninsky Prospekt.

The Troitskaya line is more than 43 kilometers long with 17 stations and will become one of the longest radii of the Moscow metro and the largest outside the Moscow Ring Road. The stations “ZIL” and “Krymskaya” will be transfer stations to the same name stations of the Moscow Central Ring. At “Akademicheskaya” there will be an interchange to the Kaluzhsko-Rizhskaya line. At “Novatorskaya” there will be an interchange to the Big Circle Line (BCL), and at “Novomoskovskaya” — to the Sokolnicheskaya line.

It is scheduled that in the future at the station “ZIL” we will make arrangements for a transfer to Biryulevskaya metro line.

Passengers of the Troitskaya line will get dozens of variants of new routes for traveling around the city and will be able to save time on the way. Thus, the residents of Troitsk will get to the Big Circle Line (BCL) and the Moscow Central Ring twice as fast — in 35 and 45 minutes respectively. The projected passenger traffic of the line is more than 325,000 people per day.

More than 1.5 million people live in the neighborhoods where the Troitskaya Line runs. Thanks to the construction of new real estate, their number will grow. In addition, new metro stations will stimulate the creation of tens of thousands of jobs.

“In the future there will be new surface routes of urban transportation to make it even easier and faster to get to the stations,” the Mayor of Moscow wrote in his Telegram.

The Troitskaya line will reduce the load on the southern sections of Sokolnicheskaya and Kaluzhsko-Rizhskaya lines, as well as on Butovskaya line. In addition, the intensity of vehicular traffic on nearby roads will be reduced, which, in turn, will improve the environmental situation.

Vladimir Putin and Sergei Sobyanin inaugurate the first Troitskaya line section

In the future, the Troitskaya line will significantly improve the transport accessibility of Krasnaya Pakhra settlement and important urban facilities located there: Europe's largest electric bus park, traction battery manufacturing plant and KAMAZ municipal and commercial vehicle maintenance center.

Troitskaya line construction

The construction and commissioning of the Troitskaya line is being carried out in stages. In 2024 in two stages, in September and December, sections of the first stage — from Novatorskaya station to Novomoskovskaya station with a total length of 15.5 kilometers — were opened. Seven stations are located here.  Four of them are located on the section “Novatorskaya” — “Tyutchevskaya”, the length of which is 8.8 kilometers.  These are “Novatorskaya”, “Peoples' Friendship University”, “Generala Tyuleneva”, and “Tyutchevskaya”. Three are located on the section from “Kornilovskaya” to “Novomoskovskaya” (6.7 kilometers).

It is scheduled to complete construction of the Novatorskaya — ZIL section in 2025. Its length is 11.3 kilometers. There will be four stations: “Vavilovskaya”, “Akademicheskaya”, “Krymskaya” and “ZIL”.

Design documentation is being developed for the section “Novomoskovskaya” — “Troitsk”.

The maximum intensity of traffic after the full launch of the line can be up to 36 pairs of trains per hour with intervals of up to one and a half or two minutes. First time to serve trains of a new line will be electric depot “Zamoskvoretskoye”, and then — “Stolbovo”. For 2029-2030 it is scheduled to complete the construction of the electric depot “Troitskoye”.

The first sections of the Troitskaya line improved transportation services for about 900,000 Muscovites, including 175,000 residents of the Kommunarka district.

Not far from the new stations are the Moscow Multidisciplinary Clinical Center “Kommunarka”, large shopping malls “Food City”, “Slavyansky Mir” and “Mega Teply Stan”, promising administrative and business center “Kommunarka”, Patrice Lumumba Peoples' Friendship University of Russia, National Medical Research Center of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Perinatology named after Academician V.I. Kulakov and other major universities, scientific and medical institutions.

With the commissioning of Novomoskovskaya station, the first interchange between subway lines — to the Sokolnicheskaya line — has appeared in TiNAO.

It is expected that passengers will be able to save a lot of time when traveling around the city. For example, the way from “Kornilovskaya” to “Novatorskaya”, where there is a transfer to the Big Circle Line (BCL) of the subway, has been reduced by 2.5 times — from 30 to 12 minutes.

Troitskaya to be Moscow Metro longest line — Sergei Sobyanin

The opening of the first sections of the Troitskaya line will reduce the load on the southern sections of the Kaluzhsko-Rizhskaya and Sokolnicheskaya subway lines (up to 10 percent), as well as on Leninsky Prospekt, Prospekt Vernadskogo, Profsoyuznaya and other city streets located nearby.

The rolling stock of the Troitskaya line is equipped only with the most modern Russian trains “Moscow-2024”.  They have everything for comfortable travel: powerful air conditioning systems, wide doors and inter-car passages, USB-connectors and a lot of information screens.  The main advantages of “Moscow-2024” trains are new exterior and improved aerodynamics of the train, as well as modern interior, which makes traveling even more comfortable for passengers.

The new stations of the Troitskaya metro line were built with maximum passenger comfort in mind — they are equipped with modern turnstiles for entrance and exit (two turnstiles in each concourse allow you to pay your fare using biometrics), ticket vending machines and terminals, as well as a clear navigation system in a uniform style.

The 4G mobile network started operating on platforms and in tunnels from the day the stations were opened. Thanks to this, users of the Big Four mobile operators can get internet speeds of up to 300 megabits per second and high-quality voice communication. There is free wifi in train cars.

More convenient transportation of passengers by ground urban transport to the new metro stations has been arranged. After completion of construction of some road infrastructure facilities (flyover across Admirala Kornilova Street, sections of Kommunarskoye highway) new routes will appear and the routes of existing ones will be changed, which will reduce travel time to metro stations by 10 minutes.

Before the opening of the stations, metro specialists tested and adjusted all the equipment. The work of escalators, ticket offices, turnstiles, communications, ventilation, security and dozens of other systems was checked.

Sergei Sobyanin unveils Troitskaya line construction facts

Thanks to the commissioning of two sections of the Troitskaya line, Moscow Metro provided jobs for more than 1,070 people. These include electric train drivers, station duty officers, track fitters, electricians and other specialists.

New metro stations

Novomoskovskaya station of the Troitskaya metro line was opened on December 28, 2024. It is located near the intersection of Projected passage No. 7051 with the highway Solntsevo — Butovo — Varshavskoe highway. The interchange to the Sokolnicheskaya metro line station of the same name is the first integration of two metro lines in the territory of the TiNAO.

“Novomoskovskaya” is a shallow-buried, single-wall station with an island platform and an underground concourse, which provides an exit to Projected passage No. 7051 and a transfer to the Sokolnicheskaya metro line.

It is expected that in January 2025 the station will be used by 7,400 passengers on weekdays. By 2030 the daily passenger flow should increase almost twice — up to 14,000 people. The growth of passenger traffic will be due to job creation and housing construction.

The station is designed in the biotech style with a predominance of green color, referring to the nearby parks.  The distinctive feature of its platform part is the large-span coffered vault structure, which forms a light and bright space of the station. The vault is decorated in white color, the walls are of lettuce and gray shade. The floor is laid with light gray granite, the walls of the lobby part — with black and gray granite.

The station “Kommunarka” of the Troitskaya metro line is also was opened on December 28, 2024. It is located along Projected passage No. 7051 near the intersection of Alexandra Monakhova Street and Sosensky Stan. It is a shallow-buried, columned, double-span station with one island platform and two underground concourses with exits to Alexandra Monakhova Street and Sosensky Stan, Projected passage No. 7051, and in the future — to both sides of the projected highway the Moscow Ring Road — Kommunarka — Ostafievo Airport.

Not far from the station are the Moscow Multidisciplinary Clinical Center “Kommunarka” and a developing administrative and business center.  In the future about 60,000 people will work near the station.

It is expected that in January 2025 the station will be used by 16,500 passengers on weekdays. By 2030 the daily passenger flow should increase more than twice — up to 35,000 people.

The station is designed in the avant-garde style. The platform part is decorated with a large light fixture in the form of a turbine. The track walls and ceilings of the station are designed in the same style. Two types of three-layer aluminum panels are used in the cladding: with a glossy surface with applied background pattern for buried elements and with a matte surface for elements protruding from the plane. Metal rings and color accents on the ceiling add dynamism to the structure. The columns in the center of the platform are clad with brushed stainless steel sheets.

Kornilovskaya station of the Troitskaya metro line, was opened on December 28, 2024, is located along the Kaluga highway at the intersection with Admirala Kornilova Street, next to the agricultural cluster “FOOD CITY”.  It is a shallow-buried, columned three-span station with one island platform and two concourses (above-ground and underground) with exits to Kaluga highway, Admirala Kornilova Street, agrocluster and surface transportation stops.

In addition to the agro-cluster, there are large shopping centers near “Kornilovskaya” station. Thus, about 70,000 visitors and employees of these enterprises will be able to use the new metro station.

It is expected that in January 2025 the station will be used by 12,000 passengers on weekdays. By 2030 the daily passenger flow should increase more than 1.5 times — up to 18,500 people. The growth of passenger traffic will be due to job creation and housing construction.

The station is decorated in autumn colors (yellow, orange, burgundy). The track walls are decorated with multi-format elements reminiscent of bright autumn foliage of Moscow squares. The suspended ceiling is made of aluminum panels with recessed lights. The columns are finished with black gabbro, the floor with gray and light granite.

The ground lobby is made in the form of a petal surrounded by a colonnade. The columns are arranged with different spacing: less often — in the entrance area, more often — in the area closed from pedestrians. The facade and colonnade are finished with natural stone — white dolomite. Stained glass glazing and bright aluminum panels of white and bronze colors are also used in the design of the facade.

A typical subway pavilion is located above the stairway of the subway station lobby. The same materials were used for the interior decoration of both lobbies as in the station itself.

Tyutchevskaya station of the Troitskaya metro line was opened on September 7, 2024. It is located in the Mosrentgen Plant settlement (TiNAO) along the 42nd kilometer of the Moscow Ring Road, on the outer side of this road.

The opening of the station improved the transport accessibility of the Kommunarka district and the Teply Stan district. More than 100,000 people have a metro station within walking distance for the first time. In addition, it became easier to get to one of the largest shopping districts of Moscow.

Thanks to the station “Tyutchevskaya” the way to the interchange to the Big Circle Line (BCL) became three times faster.  Passengers can reach Novatorskaya and transfer to the Big Circle Line (BCL) station of the same name in 10 minutes instead of the previous 30 minutes.

“Generala Tyuleneva” station of the Troitskaya metro line, opened on September 7, 2024, is located along the street of the same name at the intersection with Teply Stan Street.

Thanks to this station, transportation services for residents of the Teply Stan district have been improved, who can now save about 30 minutes a day on the road. For example, the route from Generala Tyuleneva Street to the nearest BCL station has been reduced by about three times. Previously, they had to take ground transportation to get there — the trip took more than 20 minutes. With the opening of the station “Generala Tyuleneva” to “Novatorskaya” can be reached in a straight line without interchanges in just eight minutes.

The station “Peoples' Friendship University” of the Troitskaya metro line was also opened on September 7, 2024. It is located along Akademika Oparina Street at the intersection with Miklukho-Maklaya Street.

In addition to the university of the same name — Peoples' Friendship University of Russia, near the station there are the Russian State Geological Exploration University named after Sergo Ordzhonikidze, the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry named after Academicians M.M. Shemyakin and Y.A. Ovchinnikov of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Moscow University of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, the National Medical Research Center of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Perinatology named after Academician V.I. Kulakov and other institutions. More than 25,000 people work or study near the station.

The opening of “Peoples' Friendship University” has improved transportation services for residents of Obruchevsky and Konkovo districts, as well as those who work there — they can get to the subway without ground transportation and save more than 30 minutes a day. For example, the way from the nearby development to the interchange to the BCL has been reduced seven times — previously it took 20 minutes to get there by ground transportation. With the opening of the Peoples' Friendship University station, Novatorskaya can be reached in a straight line without interchanges in just three minutes.

Novatorskaya station of the Troitskaya metro line, opened on September 7, 2024, is located along Leninsky Prospekt at the intersection with Udaltsova and Novatorov Streets — on the border of Obruchevsky and Prospekt Vernadskogo districts. From it you can transfer to the station of the same name of the Big Circle Line (BCL) of the metro.

“Novatorskaya” is used by inhabitants and those who work in the districts of Obruchevsky, Lomonosovsky and Prospekt Vernadskogo. 250,000 city dwellers have one more metro station near their home or place of work.
