Sergei Sobyanin: Moscow Metro is served by 75% next-gen trains

75 per cent of the Moscow Metro rolling stock are next-gen trains, Sergei Sobyanin writes on his Telegram channel.

Since 2020, the Moscow Metro has got

— completely updated Circle Line fleet to include Moscow-2020 trains, 

— 100 same-type trains for the Big Circle Line, which are served by the new Nizhegorodskoye and Aminyevskoye train depots,

— renewed fleet on the Kaluzhsko-Rizhskaya line with Moscow-2020, Moscow and Oka trains,

— Zamoskvoretskaya line getting some Moscow-2024 trains maintained under a life cycle contract in the new Sokol depot facility.

“Every year we buy about 300 new train cars. Their percentage in the metro has increased almost six times since 2010 and by almost 20 per cent since 2020. This is the world’s highest achievement,” wrote the Moscow Mayor.

Engineers are currently designing a new Moscow-2026 train as the municipality is going to renew Zamoskvoretskaya line fleet and begin replacing trains on the Lyublinsko-Dmitrovskaya line.
