  • in public transport: in metro trains, Moscow Central Circle (MCC), Moscow Central Diameters (MCD) and Aeroexpress, in buses, electric buses, trolleybuses and trams, as well as at city passenger transport stops (the corresponding stickers indicate the presence of the network).

2. How can I use the free Wi-Fi network?

To use the free Wi-Fi network, you need to purchase a SIM card from any Russian mobile operator. You will need a local number to identify yourself on the Wi-Fi network.

After you enter your phone number, your device will receive an SMS with an access code, which you will need to enter in a special field.

4. How to connect to Wi-Fi in the city?

If you are in the coverage area of the Moscow_WiFi_Free network, select the Moscow_WiFi_Free network from the list of available networks, open the browser and go through the identification procedure via SMS.

In the future, it will be enough just to choose the Moscow_WiFi_Free network for using Internet. When connecting to the city Wi-Fi, after opening the browser, you will need to click the Log in to Internet button, then a page will open and you will get access to the network (you can use it for three months without re-identification).

5. Why the user identification is required?

The users identification to access Wi-Fi in public places is a requirement of Russian legislation.

Before opening access to the Internet, the telecom operator is obliged to offer the user:

  • enter your mobile phone number, to which a code will be sent to confirm the data entered;
  • specify your last name, first name and patronymic, confirming them with an identity document, an account on the unified portal of public services (or the portal of the Moscow Mayor or in any other way that does not contradict the law.
