For the year, the investments volume of Technopolis Moscow SEZ residents increased by 35 percent
Last year, the volume of the Technopolis Moscow Special Economic Zone (SEZ) residents investment increased by more than 30 percent compared to 2019. This was announced by the Deputy Moscow Mayor for Economic Policy and Property and Land Relations Vladimir Efimov.
"In 2020, Technopolis Moscow SEZ residents invested 8.9 billion rubles in the development of the capital's economy. This is 35 percent more than a year earlier, when the volume of investments was 6.6 billion rubles. By the end of 2020, the total volume of the residents all investment for all the time of the Moscow SEZ existence has already exceeded 37.5 billion rubles," —he said.
In 2020, manufacturers of medicines, medical products and equipment invested the most. They have invested over five billion rubles.
"In 2020, the investments volume of medicines, medical products and equipment manufacturers amounted to 5.02 billion rubles. On the capital's SEZ territory, the enterprises are developing their sites for the production of drugs against oncological diseases, neuropsychiatric disorders, cardiac disorders, products for ostomy patients," Alexander Prokhorov, Head of the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy of Moscow, explained.
Microelectronics companies that produce microchips, chips, power modules, optical transformers and robotic systems also took the leading positions. Last year, they invested 2.7 billion rubles, Gennady Degtev, the General director of Technopolis Moscow, said.
Technopolis Moscow residents economize on taxes and other mandatory payments, they are provided with duty-free imports, a preferential rate on profits. These companies do not pay tax on land, property, or transportation.
The Technopolis Moscow Special Economic Zone consists of five sites with a total area of 223.3 hectares. One of them is located in Pechatniki and four in Zelenograd - Alabushevo, Mikron, MIET and Angstrem. The SEZ won the first place in the V rating of investment attractiveness of Russian industrial parks and special economic zones, which was compiled by the Expert analytical center. Participating sites are evaluated according to such criteria as the level of services development and services provided on their territory, the level of management development and transparency to potential investors and residents, the cost of basic resources, the location of the site and the benefits being offered.
