175 organizations in the Capital were distinguished by the international Safe Travels stamp
Museums, theaters, concert halls and the Moscow Zoo have joined the program.

More than 170 Moscow entities have obtained Safe Travels Discover Moscow stamp, Deputy Mayor Natalya Sergunina said. Safe Travels is a global travel safety initiative launched as a response to the coronavirus pandemic. The project invites cafes and restaurants, hotels, travel companies, cultural sites and tourist infrastructure facilities to join in.

“At the moment we have received about 200 applications for participation in the program. 175 entities have already been checked by specialists and received an international safety stamp. These are almost 40 travel companies, more than 90 hotels, as well as museums, theaters, viewpoints, restaurants, cafes and other facilities. So far, the industry is focused primarily on domestic tourism, but when the global pandemic begins to decline, the Safe Travels stamp may become an additional tool to attract foreign travelers”, said Natalya Sergunina.

Tsaritsyno Museum-Reserve, the Museum of Moscow, Museum of M.A. Bulgakov, the State Darwin Museum, Moscow State Museum of S.A. Yesenin, the Polytechnic Museum, the Moscow International House of Music, the Moscow Theater on Taganka and the Moscow Zoo have Safe Travels stamp.

The Safe Travels initiative was launched by the World Travel and Tourism Council. It envisaged safety standards for hotels, tourist attractions (for example, art centers), airports, convention centers, real estate and car rental services, tour operators and travel agencies. Safe Travels' protocols are recommended to observe by local and national laws and guidelines from international organizations, including the World Health Organization.

The scope of measures includes practicing of social distance, monitoring the health status of employees, disinfection, use of personal protective equipment etc.

To obtain this distinctive stamp, entities are to file an application at safetravelsmsk.russpass.ru. It takes 10 days for compliance check. If an object or an entity meets the hospitality requirements, it is registered in the Safe Travels international system and the information about it is entered into the Safe Travels Discover Moscow register.
