Formula Student: young engineers to present their racing cars
Some 20 teams from Russian and European universities are to demonstrate their developments

21 through 22 September, Formula Student, an annual international engineering and sports competition, will take place at the Bykovo Airport near Moscow.

Students from different countries will present their independently designed and created formula class racing cars to the jury. They will tell about technical and economic benefits of their models, and test their cars on the track. This year, more than 20 teams from universities of Russia, Germany, Hungary and Austria are expected.

"Today, inventive activity in Moscow is 3.5 times higher than the average in Russia. The city provides extensive opportunities for piloting developments. Formula Student is another opportunity to demonstrate the creative potential of young Moscow designers to the international experts," said Alexei Fursin, Head of the Moscow Department of Entrepreneurship and Innovations.

The event will also host a Speed Festival to present a show programme including car races and a professional pilot competition.
