Best Tour Guide and Best Tour Guide Interpreter of the Moscow Masters contest have been determined. The participants were to guide a part of the tour 'Moscow of the 21st Century: from Concepts to Practice' to be assessed by the Moscow City Tourism Committee and the Association of Guide Interpreters, tour guides and tour managers.
Alesya Denkova-Gerasimova has been named the Best Guide Interpreter, with Ayush Tsyrendorzhina being second, and Olesya Yakobsons being third.
Lada Grekhova has been named the Best Guide. The second was Irina Gorbatenkova, and Yana Malinina was the third.
Millions of tourists from different cities and countries visit Moscow. They are mostly young people under 34 years old, the Tourism Committee notes. The mission of a professional guide is to spark the interest of guests, show how unique and beautiful Moscow is, so guides must not only know the city well, but also have excellent social and conflict management skills and always be cheerful. These were the criteria the judges applied.
The contest is primarily aimed at raising the prestige of the professions of a guide and a guide interpreter, as well as to improve the quality of tour services in Moscow.
There are also similar competitions regularly held in other occupations, such as psychologists or bus drivers.
