The Active Citizen project has finished the voting of Muscovites to choose a festive programme for the City Day. 154,873 people shared their opinion.
Most citizens believe that fireworks should be launched in the parks during festivities (40.82%). Special events for children have been approved by 29.97%.
Charitable foundations events interested 14.16 % respondents. 1.23 % offered their options, with screening of 'Walking the Streets of Moscow' in open-air cinemas and historical quests among them. 13.82% found it difficult to answer.
Also, the Active Citizen project participants have chosen a festive program for Moscow districts. Modern music concerts have scored the largest number of votes (37.34%). Theatrical performances have been preferred by 26.46%, and classical music concerts got 20.02% of votes.
4.37% of citizens voted for poetic programmes. The options proposed included chess tournaments, folk music concerts and beatbox battles. Another 5.27% of 'Active Citizens' believe that experts should deal with the program,, and 5.75% found it difficult to answer.
The City Day in Moscow will be celebrated on 7 and 8 September, when Moscow will turn 872. Last year, over 300 major events were held in all districts of the Russian capital. There were 160 concerts and music programs, 90 exhibitions, lectures and celebrity stakeouts, 100 master classes and 20 charity events held. Citizens also admired dozens of fireworks.
