Construction of Suvorovskaya station will resume on the Circle Line of Moscow metro, as Sergei Sobyanin wrote on his official page on VKontakte social network.
Suvorovskaya station will be located on the operating running line under the southern part of Suvorovskaya Square. Back in the 1950s, there was a site left for the station (called then Ploshchad Kommuny) between tracks, enough for construction of the Central Hall and side platforms. However, the construction had not even been launched. The work to arrange the construction site started again in the 1990s, however, it was suspended, too.
In accordance with the project, it will be a deep level pylon station. Transfer to Dostoyevskaya station will be arranged in the hall's centre. The Eastern end of the Central Hall will have the stairs leading to the entrance hall, where you can get to the underground lobby with exits to Durova Street and Olympiysky Prospekt.
As part of the metro construction program, 155 km of metro lines, 81 new stations, three additional lobbies of metro and the Moscow Central Circle, as well as 10 train maintenance facilities have been commissioned in Moscow since 2011.
