(11).jpg)
Nine parks managed by the Moscow Department of Culture have dedicated jogging tracks. The longest tracks are those of Gorky Park (8 km), Fili Park (5 km), 50-Letiya Oktyabrya Park (4.5 km) and Olympic Village Park (4 km).
“Recently, the number of Muscovites who prefer breathing fresh air while jogging has been growing steadily. Our parks have the infrastructure to make that convenient. In addition to the self-organized paths and tracks, we offer specially arranged tracks of varying lengths and surfaces (asphalt, small pebbles, rubber pellets). The tracks are outfitted with night lighting and benches for rest. Some of them also have drinking fountains installed,” the Mosgorpark press service told us.
For Those Who Run a Lot
The longest jogging track starts from Museon Park of Arts and ends on Vorobyovy Gory. The entire territory is included into Gorky Park. The route runs along the picturesque Krymskaya, Pushkinskaya and Andreyevskaya Embankments, beside the famous rotund gazebo, over the Krymsky and Andreyevsky Bridges and through Neskuchny Garden.

The route is equipped with three water fountains: at the entrance to Museon Park of Arts from the 3rd Golutvinsky Lane, near the sports centre and beside Gorky Park rose garden.
Every Saturday at 9 a.m., the park offers free group jogging. Runners meet at the Andreyevskaya Embankment near the Luzhnetsky Metro Bridge. Find more details and participation rules at the website.
The 50-Letiya Oktyabrya park also hosts free group jogging under the instructor’s supervision. Everyone who wishes to participate should come to the appointed place at 9 a.m. on any Saturday. The starting point is the Park’s Central Alley. The training sessions are open to both newbies and experienced runners. The jogging track is 4.5 km long. It circles the entire perimeter of the park.

If you come to Sokolniki Park, you can run along the Health Path. It was established during the preparation to the 1980 Olympics and renovated in 2018. Almost 3 km ling, it has sports equipment and rest stops arranged along it.
The Health Path is bow-shaped and runs from the Mitkovsky Drive in the east of the Park to the Maysky Clearing, across the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th Luchevoy Proseks. The sports track is surrounded by trees. In addition, its surroundings include Red Listed grasses, flowers, bushes and mushrooms. The jogging track is lighted with the low-intensity lamps (30 Watt) so as not to disturb the daily and seasonal cycles of the plants. They are located not closer than 2 m to the trees and spaced at least 15 m from each other. The lighting is enough to make jogging comfortable, but not harmful to the park’s animal and plant life.
The Jogging Club is located near the track (11 Mitkovsky Drive). It offers change rooms and the lockers for runners to store their stuff. The parterre part has drinking fountains for comfortable jogging.
Another long jogging track is located in Khodynskoye Pole Park. It runs 2.4 km along the park’s perimeter. The track is framed by fragrant plants: sage, peppermint, bird cherry, jasmine, linden and lilac.

This summer, Moscow parks invite you to attend free sports, creative and educational courses for adults. For example, you can study foreign languages in the Gorky Park and try fitness in Neskuchny Sad.
Zaryadye and Sokolniki parks offer free 2-hour long master classes in sport dancing. You can attend those up until 31 August. Visitors can both learn boogie-woogie and acrobatic rock’n’roll elements and watch performances by professional dancers. You don’t have to register to participate. Over 200 persons can attend one master class at the same time.
In addition, 37 parks of the city hold yoga lessons. 150 certified instructors offer their services to those who wishes to improve their health and wellbeing.
