Moscow schoolboy becomes an absolute winner of the Asian Physics Olympiad
Moscow schoolchildren have scored a total of four victories for their teams.

11th form pupil Grigory Bobkov from school No.1589 in Moscow has become an absolute winner of the Asian Physics Olympiad. He has scored 33.4 points out of 50.

Also, a gold medal went to a student of the same school, Aleksey Shishkin. Vladimir Malinovsky (school No.1589) and Andrei Parfyonov (Specialized Training and Research Centre, A.N.Kolmogorov Boarding School of the M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University) from Moscow got silver medals.

Based on results of the competition, a Russian national team will be built to participate in the International Physics Olympiad (7 to 15 July).

The Asian Physics Olympiad took place in Adelaide (Australia), 5 to 12 May. Moscow was represented by a team of eight prize holders and winners of the final stage of the All-Russian Schoolchildren’s Olympiad where Muscovites have demonstrated excellent results, winning 943 certificates, over 40 percent of the awards.

This competition is held in 24 subjects for 5th to 11th form schoolchildren. The winners and award holders of the final stage will be able to enter any Russian higher education institution, at the department teaching the subject of the Olympiad.
