Hundreds of musicians from all over the world: Moscow Spring A Cappella contest to be held at 51 venues
This year, the number of foreign participants of the music festival has almost doubled.

Moscow Spring A Cappella, an international festival and contest, will be held at 51 venues in various Moscow districts. Musicians from all over the world will come to Moscow to perform thousands of songs. The festival venues will be open from 1 to 12 May. Major venues will traditionally open in the heart of Moscow ― on Revolyutsii Square, Tverskaya Square, Kamergersky Pereulok, and in Kuznetsky Most and Novy Arbat streets.

"This year, the festival will have a record-breaking number of foreign participants ― twice more than last year. 55 foreign music bands and solo performers from 25 countries, including Germany, Austria, the United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, the United States and China, are to take part in the event," reported the Press Service of the festival's Steering Committee.

According to the event organisers, artists will delight Moscow citizens and guests with their musical performances and compete for the title of the best band in four categories: 1 to 3 members (Live Looping), 2 to 4, 5 to 8 and 9+ members.

About two hundred Russian and foreign singers and music bands will perform at the festival. Visitors will enjoy music of various genres ranging from folk and blues to spiritual music and K-pop (Korean pop music). Music lovers will be offered a lot of performances for any taste and, perhaps, they will discover something new.

Balconies of some buildings are to be the most unusual venues hosting performances. Concerts will be held on the balcony of 3/6 Rozhdestvenka Street (Savoy Hotel), building 1, and in Bolshaya Dmitrovka Street (balcony of building 13). In addition, some riverboats cruising along the Moskva River will host musical performances as well. Free events are also scheduled in Gorky Park (next to the main entrance), VDNKh (Severny Public Garden, near pavilions No. 70 and No. 75) and on the new amphitheatre stage in Zaryadye Park.

Citizens may participate in workshops at the festival venues, buy souvenirs and try various treats. The full list of venues and schedule of performances is available on the website of Moscow Spring A Cappella organisers.

Moscow Spring A Cappella is part of the Moscow Seasons series of city street events. This singing contest was first held in 2017 with singers from 12 countries. In 2018, participants from 16 countries and 40 regions of Russia performed at 60 venues across the city. Last year's festival was attended by 6,930,000 people.
