Volunteers and what they do: Moscow Metro launches another themed train
The train will be operating on Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya metro line until May, 2019.

Today, another themed train was launched on the Moscow Metro’s Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya Line. The new volunteer-themed Train of Change: Volunteer Stories will be in operation until May 2019 and will carry some 1.3 million passengers over that period.

The train’s design resembles an Instagram page: the train’s interior and exterior feature slogans, hashtags, pictures and quotes by volunteers from across Russia.  There will also be lots of interesting facts and real-life stories for the passengers to enjoy during their journey.

The train has a total of ten carriages, each dedicated to a different area of volunteering in Russia: healthcare, the social sphere, the environment, culture and education, volunteering in emergency situations, inclusive and senior volunteering, and many others. Moreover, each carriage tells the passengers how they too could join the volunteer movement.

The Moscow Metro prides itself on the tradition of themed trains dedicated to significant days and events. The Train of Change: Volunteer Stories became the Moscow Metro’s 22nd themed train to be launched this year. Earlier, the Moscow Metro introduced the Moscow Spring A Capella, Maly Theatre and My Marshak themed trains.
