Metro to open first section of Nekrasovskaya Line in late 2018

The metro is now adjusting equipment and finishing stations and access routes.

The first, 6.9-kilometre, section of the metro’s Nekrasovskaya Line (No. 15) from Kosino station to Nekrasovka station, is almost complete, Deputy Moscow Mayor for Urban Development and Construction Marat Khusnullin said.

“All the construction and assembly work is now complete. Workers are assembling and adjusting utility mains and station equipment. Today, we are finishing the stations, as well as their access routes,” Mr Khusnullin said.

The metro plans to open the new line in late 2018, he added. “It depends on the success of the comprehensive tests because any metro station is a highly sophisticated engineering and technical facility with about 20-25 utility mains. Most of them have already been assembled,” he explained.

In a week or so, workers will also start installing structures for a transit link/hub at Nekrasovka station. In all, Nekrasovskaya Line will receive six transit links/hubs at the Nekrasovka, Lukhmanovskaya, Ulitsa Dmitriyevskogo, Kosino, Yugo-Vostochnaya and Nizhegorodskaya Ulitsa stations. The latter station will receive the city’s largest transit link/hub, Ryazanskaya. It will link the metro’s Nekrasovskaya Line and Large Circle Line (No. 11), the Moscow Central Circle (MCC) railway and the Moscow Railway’s Gorky Line.

The metro’s Nekrasovskaya (Kozhukhovskaya) Line (No. 15) will link the Kalininsko-Solntsevskaya (No. 8A) and Large Circle (No. 11) lines near Entuziastov Motorway with Nizhegorodskaya Ulitsa station, located at the beginning of Ryazansky Prospekt. The line will also reach into the Zhulebino, Kosino-Ukhtomsky and Nekrasovka districts beyond the Moscow Ring Road (MKAD).

The new line will reduce congestion on the metro’s Tagansko-Krasnopresnenskaya Line (No. 7), improving the transport situation in the Nizhegorodsky, Ryazansky, Vykhino-Zhulebino, Kosino-Ukhtomsky, Nekrasovka, Tekstilshchiki and Kuzminki districts and in Lyubertsy outside Moscow.
