The new facilities are expected to open in 2022.

Work is underway to design three new buildings for the Skolkovo Innovation Centre's Moscow International Medical Cluster.

One of them, described as a Smart Hospital of the Future will be a multifunctional facility, which will be created by specialists from Seoul National University Bundang Hospital. According to Deputy Mayor for Urban Development and Construction Marat Khusnullin, a modern clinic with a floor area of 48,000 sq m will be built in Skolkovo. It will specialise in cardiology, oncology, rehabilitation, traumatology and orthopedics, as well as diagnostics and complex medical examinations. Moscow's Bundang Hospital is expected to begin working in 2022, with services to be provided to some 26,000 patients per year.

Also planned is the creation of a therapeutic wing which will house a branch of Israel's Hadassah Medical Centre. "The facility is expected to be ready by 2022 and will measure 20,000 sq m. Specialists  will be able to receive up to 100,000 patients per year," Mr Khusnullin said.

This is going to be the 2nd facility operated by the Hadassah Medical Centre, after the clinic's diagnostic centre opened in Skolkovo in early September. Here patients can undergo advanced diagnostic examinations for prevention and early detection of various illnesses. In particular, this involves programmes for complex or oncology screening diagnostics, as well as for diagnostics of cardiovascular, gastrointestinal tract and other problems. The clinic provides the same high class service as that of the main Hadassah Medical Centre.

The third building under design will house a French medical centre, to be opened in 2022 which is due to be operated by Strasbourg University Hospital. It measures 15,000 sq m and will have specialists working in the field of oncology, cardiology, traumatology, orthopedics, urology, gynecology, and many other areas.

Due to the cooperation with the University of Strasbourg, an educational project may be launched in 2023-2024, which would include programmes for doctors to upgrade their skills plus courses, seminars, practical training for young specialists and also remote digital technology courses.

The Moscow International Medical Cluster will include branches of some of the world's best clinics. Medical organisations to open their branches here have the right to employ foreign doctors and use foreign technology, equipment and also medicine.
