The main stage of the construction of the Michurinsky Prospekt station on the metro’s Big Circle Line has begun. Ground excavation work is underway, said Head of Moscow’s Department of Construction Andrei Bochkaryov.
The station is located along Udaltsova Street, near its intersection with Michurinsky Prospekt. In the future, it will form a transit hub with the station of the same name on the Kalininsko-Solntsevskaya Line.
Michurinsky Prospekt station, is part of the southwestern section of the Big Circle Line stretching from Aminyevskoye Shosse station to Prospekt Vernadskogo station. Its length is 4.6 kilometres and it will open in 2020.
“The Big Circle Line will reduce the load on the metro’s radial lines as well as on all the city’s main roads, including the Moscow Ring Road (MKAD). Many districts of the city will be connected directly. In some directions, travel time will be reduced two-three times,” Bochkaryov said.
