World noted landscape designer James Basson will present his horticultural show Carmen dedicated to the creativity of the Russian ballerina and her most recognisable stage image at Maya Plisetskaya Gardens. This is Basson’s first project in Russia.
The work started on 11 August. The unique garden will be on public view in Moscow from 30 August, the opening of the festival, Moscow Summer: Flower Jam. Carmen’s designer will chair the contest’s jury. He will arrive in Moscow on 15 August.
James Basson has received many prestigious international awards and recognitions. Last year, he won the Chelsea Flower Show. With his wife Helen, he presented a Mediterranean garden at London’s biggest flower show.
The second Moscow festival of city landscape design, Flower Jam, will run from 30 August to 9 September. Citywide, various venues will have gardens and landscape compositions that will include over 4 million live plants.
Last year’s festival Moscow Summer: Flower Jam attracted 7.2 million people. The city was decorated with 260 flowerbeds, nine exhibition gardens and four special landscape projects.
