The Dream Island amusement park will open in autumn 2019. It will feature three themed zones dedicated to the following fairytales: Snow Queen, Buratino and Mowgli.
Launched in 2015, the project involved over 200 painters and designers from all over Russia. The team also included scriptwriters, writers, directors and animators who created new portrayals of the famous book characters. To date, 24 characters are ready.
The zone dedicated to Buratino from Alexei Tolstoy’s story will feature a puppet theatre and a house-shaped toy shop. Papa Carlo will live there. The Snow Queen zone will include a 4D amusement ride. The new Mowgli will be seen in the Lost World including eight amusement rides.
Dream Island Park will get modern European amusement rides, most of which are unique. Among them are the gigantic swings, Temple of Fire, which will be able to lift visitors to a height of 20 metres, and the “dark” indoor roller coasters. The roller coaster trains will develop speeds of up to 80 km per hour through double loops, making a 360-degree turn.
Dream Island Park occupies about 100 hectares. It will receive up to 50,000 visitors daily. The park is being built in the Nagatinskaya Poima floodplain in the south of Moscow. It will be divided into five areas − sports, family entertainment, interactive area and a park, with gardens and artificial lakes. Dream Island is going to be the largest indoor amusement park in Europe and Asia.
