Foreign football fans have named the stations of the Moscow Metro that they found most appealing to the eye. They used the Moscow Metro app to read about the metro history and visit each of their favourite stations.
“The list was drawn up by French architects who visited Russia to support the French team in the World Cup,” said Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor and Head of the Department of Transport and Road Infrastructure Development.
The foreign guests were most impressed by Komsomolskaya (Sokolnicheskaya Line), Mayakovskaya (Zamoskvoretskaya Line), Park Pobedy (Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya Line), Taganskaya (Circle Line) and Pushkinskaya (Tagansko-Krasnopresnenskaya Line) stations.
Guided tours in Russian and English are available in the Moscow Metro during the World Cup. Participants will hear not only about long-operating stations but also about the stations that opened recently and the Moscow Central Circle (MCC). Tourists can also rent an audio guide with commentary on the history of the Moscow Metro in Russian, English and Chinese.
