Francesco Totti, Dmitry Alenichev, Javier Zanetti, Hristo Stoichkov and Laurent Blanc – these are only a few of the football legends who will be seen on the turf again.

The semifinals and the final of the World Cup are not the only exciting events set to take place during the last week of the championship. Football fans will also enjoy the first Legends Super Cup. Eight national teams will participate in the international tournament, including Germany, Portugal, Italy, France, the United States, China, Russia and a team of celebrities. The matches are planned for 10, 12 and 13 July at the Megasport Sports Palace, with the tagline “heroes of the past and legends of the present.”

The tournament will follow the format of the Legends Cup held in Moscow every year for the past decade. The composition of the two groups in which the teams will compete was determined by draw. Group A includes Russia, Germany, Portugal and France; Group B includes the celebrity team, the United States, Italy and China. Group stage games will take place on 10 July and 12 July. The winners will play in the finals and the runners-up will compete for the third prize. The final match is scheduled for 3 pm on 13 July.

Spectators will once again see world and European champions Francesco Totti, Cafu, Dmitry Alenichev, Roman Shirokov, Javier Zanetti, Hristo Stoichkov, Paolo Maldini, Laurent Blanc, Luigi Di Biagio, Christophe Dugarry, Hernan Crespo, Jari Litmanen, Rivaldo and other legendary players.

The tournament programme also offers a variety of activities for children from social welfare institutions. They will take part in training sessions and autograph signings with football stars as well as the New Generation tournament between teams from children’s homes.
