Sergei Sobyanin has submitted all the documents needed to register as a candidate for the Moscow Mayor election. He announced that he was going to stand in the election during the anniversary celebration of the Active Citizen project in Gorky Park.
“I will be running from the Muscovite Party by collecting signatures. I believe this is the right choice. The post of mayor is more administrative than political: the mayor has to consider the moods, opinions and proposals of all Muscovites regardless of their political views. And, of course, collecting tens of thousands of signatures is a good way to hear Muscovites’ wishes and requests,” Sergei Sobyanin noted.
Sobyanin believes that Muscovites will be more interested in football than in politics during the next month. However, the next three months will be enough to tell them about his plans and ideas for further developing the city.
“The main thing in preparing for an election is to start the day after the previous election, proving with your actions that you can serve in this post,” Sergei Sobyanin noted.
