Zaryadye Park, which opened in Moscow last year, has been nominated for the ArchDaily award in the Public Architecture category, according to Moscow’s Chief Architect Sergei Kuznetsov.

“The recognition even on the nomination level is a great achievement. This proves once again that we can build facilities at a world level here in Moscow,” he said. The voting is open until 30 January. Anyone interested can vote by clicking on the link, then log in or register, choose Public Architecture, filter the projects by country, choose Russia and then Zaryadye. Another way to vote is on the park’s website.

ArchDaily vote for the year’s best project is taking place for the ninth year in a row. Projects are divided into 15 categories according to their designation.

Zaryadye opened last September. It is the first large park established inside the Boulevard Ring in the last 200 years. The park is divided into four climatic zones typical of Russia: steppe, meadow, forest and northern-scape. The park has a unique botanical collection, and an underground archeological museum – objects found in Kitai-Gorod and Zaryadye. Visitors can also enjoy a great view of Moscow from the River Overlook Footbridge.
