Journey to Christmas: Ice shows at the festival’s closing
Visitors will enjoy vibrant ice parties and spectacular ice shows.

A special programme has been prepared for the audiences of the ice theatre at Novopushkinsky Public Garden on the last days of the Journey to Christmas Festival.

Ice parties with DJs and music groups will be held from 9 pm to 11 pm on 12 and 13 January. DJ Pasha Portnov will host the show on 12 January. The next day, visitors will enjoy performances by the Moya Michelle group and a DJ set by Night Life Awards winner Fedor Fomin.

Admission is free. Hiring skates will be possible for those without any.

Other events on the festival’s last days include ice shows with world famous figure skating stars.

The Snow White show will open at 4.15 pm every day. The main characters are performed by Olympic champion Adelina Sotnikova and five-time US champion in ice dancing Peter Tchernyshev, who has staged all the ice shows at the festival. The Swan Lake show with five-time US champions Naomi Lang and Peter Tchernyshev is on every night at 7 pm.

The Journey to Christmas Festival began on 22 December and will close on 14 January. This year, it was devoted to the world of the theatre: the 83 festival venues around Moscow featured theatre performances and workshops and offered unusual meals as well as gifts. Some 3 million people visited the festival’s sites on Tverskaya Street during the first three days in 2018, where they could enjoy theatre, sports and gastro shows devoted to Sadko, The Stone Flower, Ruslan and Lyudmila and other famous Russian fairy tales.
