Two festively decorated trams have emerged on the streets of Moscow. Their routes lie across the city centre and through the northwestern part of the city. This is the first New Year project that includes a towed carriage on which sparkling figures can be seen. The latter are sledges with Father Frost together with his reindeer.
According to the Director General of Mosgortrans (Moscow City Transport Authority) Leonid Antonov, New Year trams have been put into service for the third year running.
“This means of transport will be operational during the evenings all through the festive season. It is expected to carry about 17,000 people. Today, we prepared a special gift for our younger passengers on the New Year tram. This is a fairytale about how a regular tram carriage turned into a festive one followed by the presentation of souvenirs to children by Father Frost and Snow Maiden,” Antonov added.
The themed trams’ routes until the end of the New Year holiday season are:
A: Oktyabrskaya metro station – Chistye Prudy metro station (weekdays);
No 26: Universitet metro station – Oktyabrskaya metro station (public holidays);
No 6: Bratsevo – Sokol metro station.
