The Moscow Metro will release a New Year’s collection of pendants that can be used as Troika cards. They will be sold at the two metro gift shops at Mayakovskaya and Trubnaya stations and at Live Help desks from 1 December.
“In all, 3,000 pendants will be released. They’ll show a New Year’s tree decorated with a red star and festive ornaments with a snowman peeking out from behind in a red cap and scarf. The bottom left-hand corner has the inscription “2018” and the top right-hand corner – a Troika card logo. Gifts that work like the cards are designed to give passengers a festive mood,” said Deputy Moscow Mayor, Head of the Department of Transport and Road Infrastructure Maxim Liksutov.
Live Help information desks with metro related gifts can be found at the following metro stations:
-Paveletskaya on Zamoskvoretskaya Line;
-Arbatskaya on Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya Line;
- Kievskaya on Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya Line;

Over 15,000 metro related gifts have been sold this year. Payments can be made with the pendant that function like a Troika card on all forms of transport where the card is used − the metro, the Moscow Central Circle and surface transit.
Technically, payments are transferred to the Troika card’s purse through the souvenir. Tickets are also taken at the reader. This can be done at Moscow Metro ticket offices or via the mobile app.
The Moscow Metro has also been selling bracelets and rings fitted with the Troika card chip.
