Designated bus lane to open in the northeast of Moscow on 23 October
Drivers must pay special attention when driving on Lianozovsky Proyezd and Shirokaya, Leskova and Cherepovetskaya streets.

On 23 October, a designated transit lane for buses will open in the northeast of Moscow, the press service of the City Department of Transport and Road Infrastructure reports.

The new lane will run along a section of Shirokaya Street (between Ostashkovskaya and Leskova streets), and on Leskova and Cherepovetskaya streets and Lianozovsky Proyezd as well.

The city expects the new lane to improve the performance of bus service in the Severnoye Medvedkovo, Bibirevo and Lianozovo districts.

Moreover, new designated transit lanes for buses will also appear on Prospekt Mira and Khoroshevskoye Motorway this October. By the end of the year, new bus lanes will also be marked on several streets in the centre of Moscow.

By 2019, the city is planning to open over 80 kilometres of designated transit lanes for buses. This will allow buses to more strictly comply with service schedules.
