Foods from over 40 Russian regions and abroad have arrived at the festival. The Golden Autumn is being held at city venues as well as fairgrounds and farmers’ markets this year.

The Golden Autumn is a festival for everyone who appreciates quality foods and tasty dishes. The festival will have a variety of meat, fish, cheeses, vegetables and fruit on offer. The cultural menu is equally diverse as it comprises workshops, concerts, games, contests and performances with elements of a gastronomic show. Sergei Sobyanin has invited everyone to the most spectacular food celebration of the year via his Vkontakte social network  page. 

 

The festival has taken over 13 venues in the city’s centre and 10 more venues in other districts. For the first time this year the Golden Autumn is also being held at markets: 18 inter-regional and regional markets, 95 Sunday markets as well as 19 farmers’ markets. Foods for the festival have arrived from 40 Russian regions and foreign countries.

The stalls will display over 460 kinds of fish, fish products and seafood from 11 Russian regions.

150 dishes and the Pumpkin Fest

The festival’s venues will offer guests soups made from three kinds of fish: pike-perch, pike and starlet; Tsar-style and merchant-style fish soup, chicken barbeque marinated in cheese and curd, grilled Suluguni cheese in a honey and lemon sauce, grilled fish and meat, homemade compotes and herbal teas, totalling about 100 Russian and 50 international cuisine dishes.

The Pumpkin Fest is a special project of the Golden Autumn. Gardens and beds with pumpkins, boulevards with pumpkin lamps and decorative panels made of various pumpkin varieties can be spotted around the city.

Cooking lessons, games and concerts

The festival will include lessons at cooking schools and various creative workshops. Fans will uncover the secrets of very different foods – from common cottage cheese fritters and apple pies to fast food and molecular gastronomy. The guests of the festival will also be taught to paint pillows, make 3D postcards, collages, personalised bags and many other things. Children will be able to join workshops and watch performances with some features of a gastronomic show.
