Moscow’s education system is ranked sixth globally in terms of literacy and mathematics skills.

The National Exhibition of Economic Achievements (VDNKh) hosts the Moscow International Forum City of Education. It will involve representatives from most of Russia’s regions and nearly 40 countries.

The City of Education forum is held in Moscow for good reason: Moscow is the home of nearly 2 million university and school students. The city has been in constant search of new and modern education technologies. In recent years, Moscow education has traversed a long road of change to become the undisputed leader in education in our country,” said Sergei Sobyanin.

According to Mr Sobyanin, the Moscow education system has earned global recognition. Proof of this can be found in PISA research. “The research ranks Moscow sixth globally in terms of the literacy and math skills it instills. This is the tremendous success of the teaching teams, the schools and the students,” the Moscow Mayor said.

Sergei Sobyanin added that the education system keeps improving. “We have been in constant search of how to move on, developing our education system, adapting it to new and up-to-date living conditions. The city has been opening the opportunities it has to its students, all its experience and potential,” he noted. With support from universities, high-tech companies and museums, new engineering, technology and scientific classes have been created.

At the opening of the forum, the Moscow Mayor invited participants to attend City Day celebrations. “My congratulations on the start of the forum. I wish you all good progress and a happy 870th City Day anniversary. I invite everyone to the events,” he said.

The Moscow International Forum City of Education will last until 9 September. It includes experience exchange venues for international experts to discuss modern technologies in education.

The agenda included the City.Time. Dialogue 5th conference of Moscow teachers dedicated to the 870th anniversary of Moscow. The teachers will share their experiences in using the city’s socio-cultural environment and will speak about the opportunities the megalopolis can offer.

A major exhibition will be opened dedicated to the project Moscow Online School and prevocational training.
