An exhibition of the Moscow Utility and Emergency Services Complex’s vehicles to mark Moscow 870th Anniversary will take place on Krasnaya Presnya Street, Moscow Deputy Mayor for Housing and Utilities Pyotr Biryukov said.
The exhibition will open at 10 am on 9 September.
For the entire day people in the city will get a chance to view samples of special vehicles used by housing and utilities services, energy companies and emergency services. People will learn how these vehicles, used by thousands of people round-the-clock come rain come shine, sleet or snow, are designed and what they are capable of doing.
The exhibition will also include interactive boxes and a lecture hall where Muscovites and tourists will be able to watch educational films about the city’s life-support system, participate in workshops, lectures and discussions, and meet representatives from the Moscow Utility and Emergency Services Complex. There will also be a quiz and contests with prizes for the winners.
It will be possible to enter the exhibition from both ends of Krasnaya Presnya Street, from Krasnopresnenskaya and Ulitsa 1905 goda metro stations.
The first Moscow city utility vehicle parade took place last year on 11 September, with 662 vehicles belonging to various city services, energy, utilities, housing, road service, public transportation, police, fire and medical departments taking part.
The almost 2-km-long column passed along the Garden Ring, with fire-fighting and rescue ships of the Ministry of Emergencies parading along the Moskva River from Krymsky Bridge to Neskuchny Sad.
The parade was included into the Guinness Book of Records and the European Book of Records.
