Prechistenskaya Embankment and Lubyansky Proyezd will be closed to traffic at the end of this week. A section of Prechistenskaya Embankment from Novokrymsky Proyezd to Soymonovsky Proyezd will be closed from 11 pm on Thursday, 10 August, to 2 am on Sunday, 13 August. Lubyansky Proyezd along its whole length will be closed to traffic from 12 am on Saturday, 12 August, to 5 am on Monday, 14 August. Engineers will rearrange utility lines and lay cable tunnels. In addition, old kerbstones will be replaced in Lubyansky Proyezd along Ilyinsky Garden. The project will be implemented under the My Street programme.
“Drainage pipes run along the entire Lubyansky Proyezd parallel to each other. They should be linked by eight tie-bars located right under the road surface. To do this, we will use the entire street. Prechistenskaya Embankment is in for a large-scale rebuilding of the entire drainage system in 12 sections. We’ll make access gullies, new gutter inlets and cable tunnels. All of this cannot be done unless we stop traffic,” a spokesperson for the municipal services sector said.
Alternative routes to Prechistenskaya Embankment are Novokrymsky Proyezd, Soymonovsky Proyezd, Ostozhenka Street and adjacent bystreets.
In Lubyansky Proyezd, traffic will be blocked off on the section from Slavyanskaya Square to Lubyanskaya Square, or along its entire length. Maly Spasogolenishchevsky Pereulok, Luchnikov Pereulok and a turn from Myasnitskaya Street to Novaya Square will be closed to traffic too. The alternative routes are Myasnitskaya Street, Bolshoy Zlatoustinsky Pereulok and Bolshoy Spasogolenishchevsky Pereulok via Solyansky Proyezd and Slavyanskaya Square to Varvarka Street and Kitaygorodsky Proyezd towards Moskvoretskaya Embankment. Only local residents and emergency vehicles will be able to reach houses in the off-limits locations. A designated transit lane for public transport in the direction of Lubyanskaya Square will be made in Novaya and Staraya squares during the closure.
