The Luzhniki Sport Complex invites city residents to attend Moscow City Games 2017 on 29 July.
Muscovites will have the opportunity to watch professional athletes compete or take part in competitions, or have a good time at various workshops.
The Moscow City Games will begin at 11 am. One of the exciting events will be the ExpoBasket 2017 Festival that will bring together the most interesting and spectacular aspects of Russian basketball. The cycling and biking programme is really ambitious, as it includes BMX [bicycle motorcross] competitions (including a mountain bike event) and exhibition FMX freestyle motorcross, endurocross, kvadrocross, bike trial and flatland performances. Those drawn to the street arts will enjoy parkour, breakdance, graffiti, tricking, fitness and martial arts festivals, as well as strongman, professional wrestling and wakeboarding performances. Also, there will be several international and domestic tournaments, including the Workout World Championships, the Russian Freestyle Football Cup and the National Beatboxing Championships, the Panna Pro street football tournament and the Moscow Open street basketball competitions.
The more athletic attendees will be able to test their skills by competing in weight lifting, gymnastics, arm wrestling, kettlebell lifting, as well as table football, ice hockey and tennis. There will also be entertainment for people with children, such as Sport for the Whole Family events and a playground complete with contests, park rides and fun games. People are also likely to be attracted by a fly mobile, the world’s only car with a springboard, that will be used to teach visitors to dive. A workshop will be conducted by two-time Olympic diving bronze medalist Gleb Galperin and experienced instructors.
There will also be a concert that will last until 11 pm.
