Electric vehicles to get legal restricted parking spaces
The move will keep non-electric vehicles from occupying parking spaces near charging stations.

The city will assign parking places to electric vehicles (EVs) near charging stations, said Deputy Moscow Mayor and Head of the Moscow Department for Transport and Road Infrastructure Development Maxim Liksutov.

“We have been talking with the Transport Ministry about the speedy parliamentary adoption of an initiative to provide fixed electric car parking spaces near charging stations under a regulation to prohibit non-EVs from occupying these spaces,” Mr Liksutov noted.

He said that a programme to promote the development EV charging stations is in effect in Moscow, with nearly 80 charging points now available in the city. “Our goal is to provide 200 EV charging stations over the next few years,” Liksutov pointed out. The sites are chosen by the Department for Transport and Road Infrastructure Development.
