A team competition as part of the Planet of Moscow photo contest has kicked off in Moscow. It involves over 270 photographers who form three teams. The contest consists of five rounds: Moscow and Muscovites: A Comfortable City, Architectural Photography, Landscapes, Dynamics of the Big City and Moscow’s Anniversary.
The first round – Moscow and Muscovites: A Comfortable City – will last until 14 May. The photos are to focus on people. At the same time, capturing any of the city’s achievements aimed at creating more comfortable living conditions and a people-friendly environment earns photographers additional points.
The northern team needs to take photos on the topics Cycling Moscow, Musical Capital and Everyday City. The western team’s photos will reflect the following themes: Children in the City, Flower Capital and Sports Moscow. And the eastern team will cover the topics Tourist Moscow, City in Love and Nobody is Forgotten, Nothing is Forgotten.
Also, the teams will have to prepare a photo project, The Anniversary of Our Beloved City. The main requirement is that it must reflect the important and socially significant topic of the capital’s development. The winning project will be selected by users of the Active Citizen app.
According to Sergei Lyovkin, head of the Department of Urban Development, the best photos will be on display at a traditional photo exhibition timed with Moscow’s anniversary celebrations, to be held in August-September 2017.
