Remembrance Alley and the lighting show: Victory Day celebration at VDNKh
Wartime poetry recitals, film screenings and music to celebrate Victory Day. The revived Alexandrov choir will perform at VDNKh on 9 May.

Victory Day celebrations will begin well in advance at VDNKh. In the evenings on 6-8 May the main entrance arch will turn into a lighting art installation from 8.30 to 11 pm: photos and stills from documentary and feature films dedicated to the construction and work of the All-Union Agricultural Exhibition (the original name of VDNKh) before and after WWII will be projected on it.

The revived Alexandrov Russian Army Song and Dance Ensemble will perform here from 8.30 to 10 pm on 9 May, with a drum show and famous wartime songs: “On the Sunlit Forest Glade,” “Smuglyanka,” “Oh Roads” and others. The concert will be streamed live on the VDNKh website.

Several themed venues will greet visitors from midday to 8 pm on 9 May at the Ostankino Park. Remembrance Alley opens from the central entrance, lined with stands displaying photos from the history of the Great Patriotic War. Actors in military uniforms will give flowers to war veterans and invite them to listen to wartime tunes and share reminiscences with young people. War veteran actors will sing wartime songs to the guitar and accordion.

The open-air stage will host a performance with wartime songs and stories and poems about fighting and the war effort in the rear. A gramophone and an accordion will accompany a retro class on the dance veranda. Dominoes, chess, checkers and lotto players will be welcomed at the Green Rotunda, where tunes from the 1940s and 1950s will play nonstop.

On 9 May, there will be no entrance/exit through the central arch to the open space in its front, with admittance only through metal detectors.
