100 top athletes vie for President’s Sambo Cup
The competition is held among men in nine weight classes. The team with the highest total score will be named the winner.

On 26 May, Luzhniki Olympic Complex’s Small Sports Arena will host the 11th President’s Sambo Cup.

The team event will involve 100 top Russian athletes – world and European champions, masters of sport international class and merited masters of sport.

Competing will be men in the following weight classes – 52, 57, 62, 68, 74, 82, 90, 100 and over 100 kilos.

The competition will be held in the “wall to wall” format, which means that the winning team will be determined by tallying up the scores across the nine weight classes. Athletes in the 52 kilos class will compete first, and those whose weight exceeds 100 kilos will go last.

The President’s Sambo Cup was established in 2006 by executive order of Russian President Vladimir Putin and on the initiative of the All-Russia Sambo Federation.
