The Moscow Mayor highlighted that tens of thousands of jobs are being created in Moscow, and that the city is growing and developing rapidly.

The trade unions march devoted to Spring and Labour Day was held on Red Square. The column of demonstrators was led by Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, Head of the Federation of Independent Trade Unions Mikhail Shmakov and Chairman of the Moscow Federation of Trade Unions Mikhail Antontsev.

When we gathered here last year, on Red Square, we said that Moscow and Muscovites overcome any difficulties, any problems, including the problems of crisis. Today we can say that’s true indeed. Dozens of new enterprises, technoparks and technopolises are being set up in Moscow. These are tens of thousands of jobs. Real salaries are, although slowly, increasing,” the Moscow Mayor said.

He also added that the city is growing rapidly. “Work to build housing, kindergartens, hospitals, junctions and the metro continues. Last year we launched the Moscow Central Circle. So Moscow is developing. Moscow is in a good, combative mood. We will succeed in everything,” Sergei Sobyanin said.

The Moscow Mayor also congratulated everyone on the Spring and Labour Day.

Members of all trade unions took part in the May Day march: engineers, builders, teachers, doctors, scientists, and workers of the industry, transport, social, culture, energy and communications, trade, and housing and utilities sectors, as well as students and veterans.

This year, the rally was held under the motto “For Decent Work, Salary, Life!”
