The work will be completed in five months to give time to prepare the system for the winter.

The Karacharovskaya gas distribution plant, the last outdated backbone plant in Moscow, will be overhauled by autumn, said Mosgaz General Director Gasan Gasangadzhiyev.

Work to dismantle the old buildings will begin in May. The renovation is expected to last just five months, finishing in mid-October. It should be completed during the warm season to give time to prepare the system for the winter, the Mosgaz director said. All work will be done at the company’s expense.

Gasangadzhiyev said that the Karacharovskaya plant is the last backbone plant in Moscow that needs an overhaul. In the past, similar work was done at all other large Moscow plants.
