20th century art on the Active Citizen site: Muscovites to choose events for a cooperative Tretyakov Gallery-Moscow Metro project
The list might include meetings with well-known art and culture personalities, lectures on the history of the 20th century visual arts, contests and quests with prizes and awards, and TV and radio broadcasts.

Muscovites will choose the events to be included in the Intensiv XX educational project programme. The voting started on 23 March on the Active Citizen website and mobile app.

The complete list might include meetings with well-known art and culture personalities, contests, quests and quizzes with prizes and awards, lectures on the history of the 20th century visual arts, thematic TV and radio broadcasts, and special projects in print media. Users can select up to two options or suggest their own event.

Intensiv XX is a cooperative project between the Moscow Metro and the Tretyakov Gallery in Krymsky Val Street, aimed at introducing people to 20th century Russian artists. The project was launched on 30 November 2016 with the introduction of a new themed metro train. Each of its carriages was decorated with prints of famous paintings. The project organisers also opened the website Intensiv, which provides information about 20th century works of art.

As part of the second stage, the Park Kultury metro stations of the Circle and Sokolnicheskaya lines will feature elements of the paintings by 1930s-1960s Soviet painters to be provided by the Gallery. Passengers will be able to see them in the entrance halls, on the platforms and on the escalator ride.
