Moscow Metro riders are asked to remove rucksacks while on trains
Rucksacks can inconvenience other passengers, so the Moscow Metro recommends holding them by hand rather than leaving them strapped to the back.

Announcements asking riders to remove rucksacks while on the train will be used on the trains, as well as in the stations and on the escalators in the Moscow Metro. Although this is not considered a violation of the metro rules, carrying rucksacks on the back can inconvenience other passengers.

Announcements reminding riders of the importance of complying with the generally accepted rules of conduct and mutual respect have been broadcast since early this year.

In addition to the announcements, posters with recommendations to hold rucksacks, rather than strapped to the back, have been put up on the Circle, Zamoskvoretskaya, Tagansko-Krasnopresnenskaya and Serpukhovsko-Timiryazevskaya lines.
