A bad weather warning was issued by the Emergencies Ministry Chief Department for Moscow. Wet snow, black ice, and gusts of wind up to 15-20 mps are approaching and are expected to reach the city, including the Troitsky and Novomoskovsky administrative areas. Maximum temperatures will be around 1°-3°C. Such weather conditions will remain until 10 am 20 February.
Gusting winds are expected in Moscow on 21 February as well, Russia's Hydrometeorology Center reported. By Wednesday, the wind is expected to calm down, when the weather will be mostly cloudy with a little snow. The temperature will be -1°- +1°C.
Rescuers remind Muscovites that strong wind can damage power transmission lines, fell trees, and break apart wide-format and poorly attached advertising billboards. Precipitation can worsen visibility and hinder motor traffic. Motorists are advised to be more careful while driving, stick to speed limits, and avoid abrupt maneuvers.
