Foreign contractors will be in charge of building Aminyevskoye Shosse, Michurinsky Prospekt and Prospekt Vernadskogo metro stations.

Chinese contractors will be involved in the construction of the Third Interchange Circuit’s southern section.

The foreign team will be commissioned to complete the Aminyevskoye Shosse, Michurinsky Prospekt and Prospekt Vernadskogo stations, as well as tunnels and dead-ends behind Aminyevskoye Shosse, before the end of 2019. Work will begin this month.

“Metro construction requires best world practices to be employed, and our Chinese partners have the necessary advantage. They know how to deal with expedited projects, internationally recognised advanced construction methods, how to ensure high productivity and financial stability,” Mosinzhproekt CEO Mars Gazizullin said.

The project will be entrusted to one of the major Chinese state companies. “I believe that together, we will complete the project by the set deadline and according to the highest standards, and will contribute to the infrastructure development of the Russian capital. Let me note that it is a good example of cooperation, which contributes to the traditionally friendly relations between our countries,” Du Zhanghui, CEO of the company’s representative office, said.

With respect to further partnership opportunities, he said, the company is considering participation in the construction of the Michurinsky Prospekt public transit hub and a number of other investment projects.

The Third Interchange Circuit will run underground 10 kilometres away from the Circle Line and will become the longest metro line in the country at 62.3 km. The circuit will include 28 stations, seven of which will intersect radial railway routes; 17 will cross other metro lines and two will cross the Moscow Central Circle. The first section of the Third Interchange Circuit will open this year. It will be completed between 2020 and 2021.
