The escalator stretches over 130 metres long.

The world’s longest escalator was launched in the Park Pobedy metro station, reported Deputy Mayor for Urban Development and Construction Marat Khusnullin.

“We completed the construction of the Delovoy Tsentr station and launched an inclined tunnel escalator at the Park Pobedy station. This is the world’s longest escalator. It is almost 130 metres long and operates at a depth of 68 metres. We have launched it into service and may apply for an entry in the Guinness Book of Records,” he said.

Mr Khusnullin also noted that another escalator will be built at the second exit from the Park Pobedy metro station – from the western underground entrance.

This year, three stations – Minskaya, Lomonosovsky Prospekt and Ramenki – were put into operation on the Kalininsko-Solntsevskaya line. The Ochakovo metro station is under construction. Its main structures are ready and escalators have been delivered. Now workers have started decorating its interior.

The Ochakovo metro station will have two exits – to Michurinsky Prospekt and Ozyornaya Square, where buses and trolleybuses will stop.
