An illuminated heart-shaped tunnel will be set up on Poklonnaya Gora before the New Year. In the next few days, it will be lit up with 20,000 LED lights. It is assumed that newly-weds will have their photos taken in front of it, as they often choose Poklonnaya Gora for walks after visiting the civil registry office. Amorous couples and anyone who feels like it will be able to take selfies in the tunnel.
According to the Park Pobedy press service, the heart-shaped tunnel is already being assembled. It is 12 metres long, 6 metres wide and 4.3 metres high. The top of the tunnel will be decorated with two wedding rings and over 10 radiant dove figures will be placed inside.
The tunnel is being installed on Newly-Weds Alley, the most popular part of the park with courting couples. It will remain there until Valentine’s Day, traditionally marked on 14 February.
“Newly-Weds Alley is a wonderful place for romantic photo sessions. What’s more, young people often come to this part of the park for a walk after getting married,” the press service said.
Other illuminated installations will also appear on Poklonnaya Gora before the New Year. Dynamically lit fountains, a Wall of Desires and arches adorned with snowflakes will be set up on the central alley and Peace Alley.
On 31 December, New Year’s Eve, Moscow civil registry offices will conduct over 500 wedding ceremonies. On Christmas Eve, 62 Moscow couples are planning to get married.
