The Open Data website has posted a map of New Year firework sites. Detailed information about the locations is also available.
Fireworks will be launched to mark the New Year at Red Square and 30 other sites, including parks. The fireworks that will be visible from Russia’s main square will be set off at midnight sharp from Zamoskvoretskaya Street.
At other venues, the first fireworks will go off at 1 am. Colourful shows will dazzle crowds at Vorobyovy Gory, Gorky Park, Sokolniki, Park Pobedy and other nature areas. There will be two launch sites on Poklonnaya Gora – at the intersection of Pamyati (Memory) and Partizan (Partisans) alleys and on the hill near the park’s entrance.
The Moscow sky will be lit up with bouquets of green, gold, red, blue and silver alternating with waterfalls of gold and silver on the holiday night. Spectators will enjoy multi-coloured stars, glittering rings and falling sparkling brocade leaves in the winter sky. More than 10 types of fireworks will be set off in Moscow in the early hours of 1 January.
