Families of Muscovites killed in the recent Sochi crash will receive financial assistance
The Moscow Government has adopted a resolution on assistance for the families of Sunday’s Sochi plane crash.

The families of Muscovites who were on the ill-fated flight to Syria will receive a one-time financial benefit of one million roubles for each victim, according to a resolution adopted by the Government of Moscow.

Earlier, Mayor Sergei Sobyanin expressed deep condolences to the bereaved families and friends over this tragedy. He also noted that the city authorities would provide any necessary psychological and material assistance to the affected families.

On 25 December 2016, a Syria-bound Russian Defence Ministry Tu-154 airliner carrying 92 crashed into the Black Sea shortly after takeoff.

26 December was declared a day of mourning in Russia. Entertainment was canceled in Moscow; in theaters, audiences stood for a minute of silence in commemoration.
