The city will approve the required measures to assist the families related to those who were lost in the Sochi plane crash as soon as possible, Sergei Sobyanin said.
“Yesterday a terrible tragedy took place which took the lives of dozens people, including Muscovites. Once again, my deepest condolences to the families and friends. The city will provide the necessary psychological and material support to the bereaved Moscow families. The necessary decisions will be taken as soon as possible. Today we are closely cooperating with the Russian Defence Ministry,” Mr Sobyanin said.
26 December, has been declared a national Day of Mourning for those killed in the plane crash over the Black Sea. Many entertainment venues and shows have been cancelled in Moscow. A minute of silence will be observed at all theatres before performances.
The Russian Defence Ministry’s Tu-154 aircraft was bound for Syria with 92 people aboard.
