For the first time ever, the Moscow Metro will provide all-night service on 31 December 2016 – 1 January 2017. Trains will run every 15 minutes at most.
In the last few years, repairs have been made to allow the system to run without interruption on days of high demand, such as replacing old tracks and improving electrical and ventilation systems.
All details about public transit services and traffic restrictions on New Year’s Eve will be released soon.
Plans also include all-night metro service on City Day in 2017, and on New Year’s Eve and City Day in 2018, as well as on nights following the biggest FIFA World Cup matches.
