Musical Forest lighting installation to open on Pushkin Square
It will light up the square from 16 December to 15 January during the Journey into Christmas Festival.

The Musical Forest lighting installation will open at the fountain, closed for winter, on Pushkin Square. Visitors will see a kaleidoscope of bright light images, which will be accompanied by popular New Year and Christmas melodies.

The installation will be open from 16 December to 15 January during the Journey into Christmas Festival.

The festival will start in mid-December and end in January 2017. The city’s squares, public gardens, boulevards, avenues and walking areas will be decorated with installations and holiday symbols. Also, there will be fairs, which will be open even on New Year’s night. Last year, they drew about 10 million people. Four hundred twenty-eight wooden structures, including 81 cafes and 213 retail chalets, were installed at 38 sites.

For the festival, the city was decorated with over 100 art objects and 40 Christmas trees. The most popular holiday decoration was a 17-metre-tall New Year’s ornament ball.
