Records from Moscow archives can now be obtained both at My Documents centres and in electronic format, via one’s account on the Moscow state services website.
Since 2014, electronic records and document copies have been provided by the Main Archive Department of Moscow and the archives of the Moscow Department of Education upon request. Nevertheless, people had to visit My Documents integrated government service centres for the paper version of the documents.
Now it’s up to users whether to obtain paper records or electronic ones. The latter will be available through one’s website account within 20 workdays after filing the request. The digital signature of an authorised official verifies the authenticity of the electronic records. Muscovites most frequently request archive documents to finalise their retirement, restore their employment record book and confirm their level of education.
Since its launch, the service has been used over 17,000 times.
On 1 November, all services provided on the Moscow state services website also became available at mos.ru. When the transition period ends, mos.ru will be the main platform for accessing online city services.
