Delicacies and rousing melodies from Moldova: Moscow to host the Emerald Grapes Festival
The public is invited to sample national culinary delights, listen to melodies by Moldovan composers and attend workshops.

The first Moldovan festival and fair, Emerald Grapes, will be held on Rozhdestvenka Street as part of the Golden Autumn Festival. The programme includes meetings with popular cultural figures, such as Yevgeni Doga, Mikhai Muntyanu, Vladimir Tiron, Nadezhda Chepraga and Svetlana Toma.

Visitors will be able to savour national delicacies, learn about the works of Moldovan composers, poets and authors, attend workshops, take part in contests and enjoy rousing tunes and theatrical performances from Moldova.

Events on Rozhdestvenka Street will include the following:

— a children’s animation programme, Masterpieces of Moldovan Animation (musical ‘Maria, Mirabella’; films ‘Mariza’, ‘Two Neighbours’ and others);

— the Moscow presentation of the book ‘My Chisinau’ featuring many of Russia’s famous cultural figures (taking part in the event will be Vadim Derbenyov, Alexander Oleshko and other celebrities);

— the school of Moldovan wine-making, including master-classes for the public;

— Moldovan harvest celebrations (a fair of Moldovan farm produce);

— a literary programme featuring performances by Russian and Moldovan poets and a book fair;

— a musical and dance concert (including BALKAN-TRANZIT Folk Orchestra, Olga Kyshlaru, Vazgen Oganesyan and Alisa Zaichenko);

— marking the 50th anniversary of Emil Lotyanu’s legendary film The Red Clearings and meetings with film celebrities Svetlana Toma and Vadim Derbenyov.

Yevgeni Doga, Mikhai Muntyanu, Vazgen Oganesyan, BALKAN-TRANZIT Orchestra and Nadezhda Chepraga will perform at a gala concert dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Republic of Moldova.
